About
Mr. Walter Tsui, M.H., though visually impaired, has a strong commitment to supporting tertiary-educated individuals with disabilities and special education needs in Hong Kong. In 2014, Walter co-founded CareER Association, a charity that aims to promote disability inclusion in Hong Kong by advancing employment for tertiary-educated individuals with any type of disabilities and SEN. Recognizing Walter's contribution to the community, he was awarded: 2024-Medal of Honor awarded by the Hong Kong SAR Government 2024-International Visitor Leadership Program IVLP 2024, nominated by the U.S. Consulate General Hong Kong and Macau to visit the USA as a NGO leader on the topic of NGO Management 2022-Tatler Asia's 'Gen.T Leaders of Tomorrow' 2017-The Hong Kong Youth Service Award by HKFYG Under Walter’s leadership, CareER has gained international awards and recognitions: • 2025: The Hong Kong Council of Social Service Champion For Good Awards - two Platinum Awards in 'Excellence in Effectiveness on a Small Budget' and 'Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion' • 2025: United Nation-affiliated Zero Project Award - 'Employment and Information Communication Technology' • 2021: United Nation-affiliated Zero Project Award - 'Innovative Practice for Employment from Civil Society' • 2019: The Hong Kong Council of Social Service - 'Most Impactful Small and Medium-sized Non-subvented NGO'. Prior to starting his venture in CareER, Walter worked in a number of multinational corporations where Walter acquired relevant skills that empowered him to lead CareER. Walter acquired his executive training with Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2023 and 2021, respectively. Walter has devoted himself to serving the Hong Kong community, being nominated to various committees hosted by the Hong Kong Government and other statutory organizations. Walter has been a guest lecturer at HKUST in the MBA program, City U at Master of Social Work programme on the topic of driving diversity, equality and inclusion in the business sector. Despite his visual impairment, Walter has participated in Hong Kong’s New Year Winter Swimming for over 20 years and he has practised Chinese martial art “Wing Chun” for over 10 years, which shows his endurance and perseverance.
