About

Walter Josten was a high school football quarterback, baseball player, wrestler and track athlete. While at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee he majored in fine arts and won the Best Painting award at a gallery show for Wisconsin college artists. After college, Josten moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where he met his wife Pat. They were married in 1979. In Florida, he enjoyed a career as an artist—painting in oils, watercolors and other media. Walter supported himself with his art, painting murals, commissioned portraits, as well as designing menus and logos for many area eateries. Josten’s son Patrick was born in 1982, and the following year, the Jostens moved to Southern California. There Walter soon got into the independent movie business—discovering that his art and business backgrounds made him uniquely suited to the field. Walter Josten is one of a select group of producers in Hollywood who has been (and can be) involved in every aspect of filmmaking. Josten's immersion in the process gives him the necessary perspective to guide his ideas from the development of the script through the financing, production and post-production stages, into the marketing and distribution of a motion picture. His accolades include the prestigious Ciné Golden Eagle Award for the documentary Uncommon Kindness: The Father Damien Story, an Emmy for The Incredible Mrs. Ritchie, and a Telly Award for the Randy Moss biographical film The Moss Method.

Vumanity’s vision is shaped by the belief that conversations lead to a feeling of connection with one another, that such connections help us develop empathy, which in turn promotes understanding, and ultimately sets the stage for solving complex problems that lead to happiness and a better quality of life. Our journey started with the goal of automating the process of creating a talk show, and we hoped users could inexpensively produce content on subjects meaningful to their audience without the expense normally associated with traditional production methods. Along the way, we developed technology that can revolutionize the very way we think and carry on our conversations. The Company is managed by a team with decades of experience in the highly competitive field of filmed entertainment who are passionate about their quest to find technological solutions to help people tell their story and be heard.
