The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country is a local charity uniquely protecting the wildlife of Birmingham, Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton. We are one of 46 local, independent Wildlife Trusts working to make the UK a better place for people and wildlife.

Supporting the foundation in connecting with the communities and oversight of the charity

I serve as a member of the fundraising and audit and risk committee and act as an ambassador for a charity established in 1991, dedicated to providing an air ambulance service across 6 Midlands counties, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. The charity raises £14.7m through various fundraising activities.

• Currently serving as Acting Special Sergeant at West Midlands Police, overseeing and supporting volunteer Special Constables. • Responsible for ensuring compliance with police protocols while maintaining high standards of public safety. • Engaged in training and mentoring Special Constables to enhance their operational effectiveness. • Fostered teamwork and collaboration among volunteers to strengthen community policing efforts.

I directly advise and support the Dean of the Business School to develop and implement the school’s ambitions, while bringing key contacts and resources to help the school flourish.

My remit involves assessment of thousands of applications for honours from the community and voluntary sectors, involving in-depth evaluation of highly complex and confidential information and making recommendations on level of honours, operating as part of a high calibre committee including national figures and senior civil servants.
