Victor Ioan Pricop
Senior Associate @ Farrells
About
With over 14 years of design experience in Hong Kong, China, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, and Israel, I have acquired extensive knowledge working with some of the most renowned firms, notably Farrells, BDP in collaboration with Herzog & de Meuron, OMA and GRAFT. This includes working on a wide range of sectors, such as culture, healthcare, high-rise, residential, mixed-use, public realm, and high-end interior design, taking projects from initial concept development all the way through to execution. My expertise lies in a hands-on design leadership approach, leveraging the power of storytelling through creative architectural visualization and cutting-edge computational design. Within my work, I emphasize the importance of collaborating with various stakeholders and adopting a value-driven approach that integrates the latest technologies.

Experience

Senior Associate
Hong Kong
As a Senior Associate at Farrells I am responsible for leading, delivering and coordinating the design of various projects, international competitions and ArchSD tender bids in the Hong Kong office. I have specific experience of concept and detail design, façade design, architectural visualization, BIM development and project management. Since joining Farrells in 2016, I have been closely involved in numerous large-scale projects such as the Hong Kong Science Museum & Hong Kong Museum of History Expansion, Kwai Chung Hospital, Kowloon East Regional Headquarters, Hangzhou Winland Centre, Shenzhen Yue Wan Business Centre, as well as several private residential projects. Currently, I am at the forefront of driving the initiative to integrate AI technologies and advanced computational design into the company's workflow in order to streamline processes, increase efficiency, make data-driven decisions, and generate innovative solutions.

Lecturer
As a lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), I have been teaching architecture studio to Year 4 students. In their final undergraduate project, the studio adopts a more holistic approach, integrating all elements of an elaborated architectural design. Based on the outline brief, "social condenser," our studio focuses on using food as a tool to shape future urban experiences. Through a hands-on approach, students explore how food influences physical spaces, social interactions, cultural identities, and sensory experiences within urban environments. My experience teaching at CUHK is incredibly fulfilling as I observe the development, innovation, and commitment of aspiring architects.

Part Two Architectural Assistant
London, United Kingdom
During my time at BDP, I was part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with Herzog & de Meuron on the AstraZeneca Discovery Centre, a biomedical R&D facility in Cambridge. My primary role was to develop and coordinate the Building Information Model in Revit, ensuring the preparation of the drawing packages throughout the various RIBA stages. This experience highlighted the significance of effective communication, as I conducted weekly coordination meetings among designers, structural and mechanical engineers.

Intern Architect
Rotterdam, Netherlands
While working at OMA, I got involved in several projects, including competitions, with the main focus being on the detailed design stage of Fondazione Prada Museum in Milan. The responsibilities that lied with me varied from carrying out technical drawings, testing design options and creating visualizations, to preparing professional presentations for Miuccia Prada, who was the main client. This position taught me how to thrive under pressure and get things done irrespective of the circumstances.

Intern Architect
Berlin, Germany
In my role at GRAFT, apart from engaging in different competitions, I was also the main concept designer of my first built project, Paragon Apartments. Under the guidance of two partners from the office and in close collaboration with the client, I designed the parametric facade, the roof extension over the existing building and the featured interior spaces. To accomplish this, I utilized Rhino, scripting, and Grasshopper.

Intern Architect
Kolker Kolker Epstein
Tel Aviv, Israel
Through my successful qualification for the IAESTE exchange program, I was able to secure a position at the Kolker Kolker Epstein office in Israel. This opportunity allowed me to acquire practical experience while working on residential projects, enabling me to appreciate the significance of local culture and context.
