* As a System Administrator for a security company, my responsibilities involved implementing security practices to company servers and devices. Over the month I was employed at Shelde, I managed to: * Upgrade the CA to assign SHA256 certificates from the existing SHA1 certificate * Built a new Atlassian Bitbucket server and assigned a new SHA256 certificate * Built and configured a Nagios server for monitoring the Shelde internal environment, including plugins to help with configuration * Built and configured an Icinga server for monitoring the Shelde internal environment, including plugins to help with configuration * Documenting all installations and configurations using Atlassian Confluence

* At Oreta, I am responsible for working across a variety of client and cloud based projects * allowing me to see cloud deployment services through from pre-sales and design to implementation, documentation and follow up support. My key responsibilities as a Cloud Engineer include: * managing virtual environments (VMware) * configuring complex infrastructure and networking environments * administration in Windows & Linux * configuring and supporting customer networks and routing (VPN, DHCP, DNS, Next Gen Firewalls: Palo Alto & Cisco) * configuring and supporting customer storage and backups to private and public clouds * configuring and supporting public clouds (AWS & Azure) * working on the Telstra Cloud (CSD & CSX Gen2) and Telstra Network (Next IP)

Working on a small project to migrate the existing Exchange 2003 environment to Office 365 for a small number of staff. This was my first attempt in migrating to the Microsoft Cloud and it came with a few challenges: old legacy hardware, minimal knowledge of the IT environment and extremely slow internet access. After much perseverance and analysis, I managed to migrate the business to Office 365 and upgrade their clients to operate smoothly without any issues. This was an enjoyable project to work on and satisfying to have a basic Office 365 migration under my belt.

My role as a self-motivated Network Administrator/UC Engineer required in depth technical knowledge of Cisco Data & Voice networks, Microsoft operating systems and applications, telephony systems and server hardware. I was to provide 3rd Level engineering support to IPFX customers, reseller channels and sales staff. Core duties was project related work, as well as developing and supporting high level, complex solutions.

Contracting at Hewlett Packard Ltd in London, UK, supporting Desktop and Server applications, technologies and infrastructure.

Rollout of 100's of PC's throughout the council's various sites, working together with the project manager to complete this massive project on time and within budget.

As a Senior Systems Administrator I am responsible for the day-to-day operations of Open Universities Australia’s information and technology systems. I had previously moved into a DevOps role working with tools like Chef and Jenkins for code deployment focussing on Infrastructure as a Code on the AWS platform. Automation is essential in the AWS world and I absorbed as much as I could in the time given. My environment consists mostly of BitBucket, Git, Chef, CloudFormation and Jenkins on Linux platforms. The other responsibilities at OUA include the administration of the corporate network (DNS, DHCP), file and database servers (SQL, PostgreSQL), application, operating system and security management (WSUS), active directory (AD and ADFS), MS Exchange and Mimecast e-mail, IIS/Apache/Tomcat web servers and Cisco Unified Call Manager systems with IP telephony.
