Vivian Oksenhendler

I work as a Student Assistant at my university's largest undergraduate library: Kelvin Smith Library. Here, I deliver customer service by assisting patrons with library accounts, locating resources, and providing support with computers, printing, and scanning services. I am also expected to organize and maintain a library collection of over a million items through processing, shelving, and monitoring books and multimedia materials. I enforce library policies professionally and support daily operations with organizational tasks, light maintenance, and prompt communication.

I acted as a board member and a Queens borough representative for a non-profit organization that teenagers solely run. We raise an annual grant of $10,000 and work in student-led committees to review grant applications and choose the non-profit that will receive our grant.

Summer intern at Assemblywoman's Queens office. My duties varied from office management tasks to conducting individual research concerning present bills and other organizations for the Assemblywoman.

Worked for 6 months as a student intern for a non-profit organization specializing in caring for older adults. Participated in many different in-person and virtual workshops to help build, maintain, and strengthen relationships between teens and adults.

Canvassed for Ethan Felder, a politician who ran for the District 29 City Council Democratic nominee. In addition to canvassing, the job consisted of organizing schedules and leading communications between the student canvassing team and the Campaign Manager.
