Vivian Chen

Principal Recruiter, Early Talent Programs @ Lyft

About

From tutoring students, to representing foster youth, to recruiting college students, I am enthusiastic about building impactful relationships and helping students grow and find success - however they define success. My strengths lie in counseling and developing people, managing programs and events, collaborating as part of a team, and working strategically to problem solve and develop creative solutions. I enjoy building things from scratch, working in teams to capitalize on a diversity of experiences and ideas when creating something new. I work in a highly efficient, focused, and organized manner - I call it "mise en place" at work (I love gastronomy, hence the cooking metaphor!). I believe that no problem is too big to solve, and I thrive when given the opportunity to solve new and gnarly challenges. I am playful, positive, curious, and people-focused. My technical expertise lies in university recruiting strategy and early career technical recruiting (specifically, software engineering, product design, product management, and data science/machine learning).
