Next vessel in my offshore seagoing career "DP Galyna" service support vessel with DP2 system."DP Galyna" operating in North sea in wind farm fields. Vessel makes service support duties use ampelmann ladder connecting to wind turbine and perform people transfer to/back wind turbine. I have my 12 hours shift, in my working hours I have to make ship maintenance, cleaning, washing, have stand by during people transfer, navigation watch during passage from port to field, gangway watch in port, mooring/unmooring on aft mooring station made only by myself. Vessel is equipped with 2 tons (SWL) and 20 meters telescopic crane.When it is necessary I can to lift some tools on offshore installations.

In April 2013 i joined "Oscar Wilde" Ro-Pax vessel of Irish Ferries company on the same crossing between Rosslare (Ireland) and Cherbourg (France) as "Celtic Horizon". Luxury ferry on this crossing carry a lot of passengers in summer time (1400 persons) every day. Also carry drop trailers, trucks,brand new cars, passengers transport and passengers.Mooring, unmooring every day,loading and discharging every day,ship maintenance, cargo lashing with chains,high intensity and stress,the serious drills every week. For deckhands very big plus that vessel have bow door and stern door. It means that in Ireland all transport driving in through stern door during loading and in next port in France transport driving out through bow door. I often use Forklift truck and cherry picker for different type of maintenance.

Next vessel Ro-Pax "Celtic Horizon" in Irish sea on crossing between Rosslare (Ireland) and Cherbourg (France). "Celtic Horizon" was carry drop trailers, trucks, livestocks trucks,brand new cars,passengers cars and passengers.Crossing between Ireland and France takes 14 hours. Work on this vessels was very hard : mooring, unmooring every day,loading and discharging every day,ship maintenance, cargo lashing with chains,high intensity and stress. Vessel has only stern door and for some trucks drivers it wasn't easy driving with revers during loading.

UR 101" and "AMT Discoverer" cable lay barges were next in my offshore seagoing career.I was happy to to receive new experience and skills on these similar vessels. Barges was operated in North sea in wind farm fields.

I joined the m/t "Payal" - chemical tanker. Performance of daily maintenance activities, including painting, chipping, cleaning, washing, greasing. Watches with duty officer on the navigation bridge at sea,gangway watch at port, bunker watch, take part in mooring operations, loading and discharging.

Third my vessel, heavy-lift "Swan" .The vessel was carrying both: offshore installations. The same duties as i has on tankers before: watches and maintenance. On heavy lift was a little bit another working priorities.Of course the main process it is loading and discharging.All deckhands have to understand under command of Chief mate how to use wood creeping, big metal chocks and for sure take part in welding works on deck. On "Swan" i was first time familiar with forklift truck.

After my first experience at sea i successfully pass examination in Latvian Maritime Register I received Certificate of Competency with qualification Ordinary Seamen. I received very good appraisal report and joined tanker "Pumpuri" again in a part of deck crew. My working day usually was 2 watches per 4 hours with duty officer on the bridge or on deck if vessel are in the port.Day to day i was busy with maintenance on deck, chipping, painting, washing, cleaning take part in mooring operations operate in deck machinery, gangway watches at port, operate with deck valves during loading and discharging operations together with pumpman and duty officer orders.

My first time at sea was on board of oil tanker "Pumpuri". All time I spend with bosun and other AB's , they teach me how correctly make maintenance on deck, how to use paint thinners, paint, primer. How use mooring equipment, ropes,wires and heaving line, anchoring equipment, take samples of cargo and check ullage of ballast tank. Also to be at the wheel and understand steering orders from Captain, Pilot or Mate. Understand watch keeping duties at sea on Navigation Bridge and at port during loading and discharging operations.

Next vessel chemical tanker "Elbtank Italy". I collect 24 months at sea and receive opportunity to pass examination in Latvian Maritime Register. I successfully pass it and received Certificate of Competency with qualification Able Seamen. Day to day i was busy with maintenance on deck, chipping, painting, washing, cleaning take part in mooring operations operate in deck machinery, gangway watches at port, operate with deck valves during loading and discharging operations together with pumpman and duty officer orders.Take part in anchorage and pilotage at the wheel like a helmsman, take samples of cargo and check ullage of ballast tank during loading and discharging operations,crane driver.
