* · Responsible for design and development from concept to manufacturing of automotive lighting, handle bar controls, pressure switches, hour meter, key switches. * · Work closely with product marketing to define platform strategies based on competition data, market requirement * analysis and technical capabilities. * · Study market requirements and generate concepts to drill down the product features, design parameter, process * parameter at various levels of QFD. * · Concurrently work with optical, electronics, process, reliability, and manufacturing engineers through the design cycle. * · Diligent use of six sigma tools (QFD, FMEA, control plan) through out various product’s life cycle. * · Assembly, testing and debugging of proto types. Test, characterize, and iterate design to deliver robust design. * · Seamlessly transfer design to manufacturing, proving yield and other key characteristics.

* · Design of tools and molds for various plastic / metal housings / enclosures, stamped parts using AutoCAD and Catia. * · Design and Development of parts meeting requirements of the Industrial Design. Reverse engineering of existing parts * using cloud point data. * · Provide manufacturing feasibility inputs to the product design team early in the design phase. Support R&D team with design and development of test jig and fixture. * · Lead a team of skilled toolmakers in design, manufacturing and maintenance of injection molds and press tools. * · Estimate cost of tools, propose & obtain approval from management and execute to meet cost target.
