About
Vishaan Chakrabarti, Founder and Creative Director, Practice for Architecture & Urbanism | PAU, has over thirty years of experience as an architect, urbanist, and author. Recently completed the design of Domino Sugar Refinery. Winner of The Miller Prize and the Edmund Bacon Award. Current projects include designing the expansion of I.M. Pei’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Hobson College in the heart of Princeton University, Indianapolis’ Wave Bridge, and the first towers at Schuylkill Yards in Philadelphia. He continues to advance a transformation of Penn Station. His highly acclaimed 2013 book, A Country of Cities: A Manifesto for an Urban America (Metropolis Books) will be followed in 2024 by The Architecuture of Urbanity: Designing for Nature, Culture, and Joy (Princeton University Press). Vishaan has been featured in The New York Times and The Financial Times, and has appeared on the main stage of TED, NPR, and Charlie Rose. Former William Wurster Dean of CED at UC Berkeley and former faculty member, Columbia University GSAPP.
