Virág Bélavári

I create and oversee complex CSR and marketing projects in close collaboration with the Munch team and create visual and written material for our social media platforms. As a pioneering startup fighting food waste in Hungary, Munch aspires to be not only an environmental friendly, but a sustainable business with respect to environmental, economic and social principles and it is my mission to translate that statement into projects. For example, I coordinated the JótEvő Munch project, through which our customers provided a meal regularly to homeless people. On the daily I maintain partnership with relevant organisations to our ongoing campaigns and projects, design posts, poster stickers and anything visual, contribute to our marketing strategy, co-create written material for the press, participate interviews and deliver talks on sustainability, food waste and Munch's vision.

I provided regular mentoring sessions to 6 undergraduate students participating IATL's (Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning) Compass programme. The aim of the programme is to empower undergraduates to conduct high standard research projects and share them on conferences and in journals. I helped my mentees to develop their skills for research project management and written, visual and verbal presentation. I also mapped out professional development and research presentation opportunities for them. I worked closely with the coordinators of the programme and helped to improve its structure based on my experience and my mentees feedback.

I set up a collaboration between several of the top UK universities in order to enable a pioneering collaboration for ID career development. I organised events on career paths to international development, one of which was co-hosted with Warwick Law ‘s Centre for Human Rights in Practice and offered an excellent chance to network with professionals who busted myths in what and how they achieved in the field. I researched and communicated professional development opportunities to university students.

I created the yearly fundraising plan of UNICEF UK's largest and most active official student society. Throughout the academic year I co-ordinated various fundraising projects and events as part of a dynamic team to raise awareness and funds for children in danger resulting in a £7052 of funds raised in total. I also delivered a presentation at the London Headquarter of UNICEF UK on the success of our fundraising strategy and ideas to develop it to inspire other UNICEF on Campus Societies. I created marketing material for the society, including flyers and social media posts and liaised with the University of Warwick's Students Union and various societies to keep our projects up-to-standard and inclusive.

I produced written and visual material for the press about the research progress at the MTA Wigner Research Centre for Physics in a publicly accessible way. I was maintaining communication with the researchers about their newest advancements and with the directory, discussing possible future pathways in institutional communication. I also had a major role in organizing the instute’s program for the Researchers’ Night; an event during which the public can gain insight on scientific research.

This degree has granted me way more than knowledge in a certain field. Having tailored my own pathway titled Sustainable Development and Education Policy I gained deep insight on complex issues, such as education-development projects in postcolonial contexts or sustainable urban planning from interdisciplinary perspectives. This helped me to become an efficient problem-solver and critical systemic thinker both academically and in my professional experiences. I would like to make the most of the authentic knowledge and skills that I gained through this diverse degree.
