Reconstruction of Mudeirej Bridge, Lebanon Owner: US Embassy Team for Lebanon Reconstruction (USETLR) Project description: The bridge was partially destroyed in Lebanon’s July 2006 war. The bridge is composed of two closely parallel structures. Each structure consists of one continuous unit made up of a total of eleven (11) 40 meters span; each span consists of three precast concrete girders and a cast in place diaphragm on each side. The piers height is up to 70 m. As a result of summer 06 bombing, the south structure has to be demolished using the implosion technique then reconstructed. Regarding the north structure, one span has to be replaced and two piers have to be rehabilitated and strengthened using fiber Wrap technique.
