Alfonso Villanueva

Alfonso Villanueva is the Executive Vice President of Transformation at Verizon, and currently serving as the Interim CEO of Verizon Consumer Group. Prior to joining Verizon in November 2025, Alfonso served as Executive Vice President of Strategy, Corporate Development, and Ventures at PayPal. In this role, he led PayPal’s strategic roadmap and planning, oversaw the global data science and advanced analytics functions, and managed the company’s M&A and minority investment activities. He also headed the Office of the CEO.Prior to joining PayPal in 2015, Alfonso spent over 15 years at McKinsey & Company, where he served as a Senior Partner and Managing Partner for the firm’s High Tech, Media, and Telecom practices across Asia-Pacific. Earlier in his career, he was Chief Innovation Officer at SingTel, where he was responsible for corporate strategy, investments, and digital partnerships, as well as broader initiatives in growth and innovation.He currently serves on the board of directors of Europ Assistance, where he chairs the Audit Committee, and is also a board member of Bankinter.Alfonso earned his MBA with distinction from London Business School.
