VIKAS KUMAR G.

I’m a PhD candidate in the Department of Horticulture and Natural Resources at Kansas State University, where my research focuses on innovative sanitation strategies to control Listeria biofilms in the organic produce industry. My work emphasizes integrating UV-C light and sanitizers to enhance food safety while promoting sustainability in fresh produce systems. This research contributes to safer, more sustainable food systems and addresses critical challenges faced by the organic produce industry. Prior to joining Kansas State University, I earned my Master’s degree in Horticulture from Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University in India, where I developed a strong passion for horticulture and sustainable agricultural practices. This background laid the foundation for my current work, merging scientific research and practical innovation to advance food safety and environmental stewardship on a global scale.
