Successfully developed an electro-mechanical (optics, sensor, enclosure, cameras) laser delivery test system with 90% accuracy for determining thermal properties of new engineering materials. Reduced project cost by 50% ($29K) by building a test system in-house compared to outsourced products. Developed a test system, based on experiment specifications, test procedures (ASTM), CAE analysis and cost analysis. Created 3D models and drawings of test fixtures and assemblies. Conducted design reviews with the supplier to ensure manufacturability, procurement test equipment, and prototypes. Created test plans and coordinated material testing for concept validation.
