Microsoft Intune Data Science and AI Team • Led experimentation and prototyping efforts for AI agent-based experiences in Microsoft Intune • Implemented end-to-end prototype for Intune's Vulnerability Remediation Agent, which enabled the release of Intune's first AI Agent in conjunction with the initial release of Security Copilot Agent SDK. • Advised leadership team on AI agent product strategy, authored organization's AI Agent Developer Guide Quality and Infrastructure Team • Led AI and ML initiatives to improve infrastructure quality in collaboration with Data Science and AI Team • Designed and built flexible analytics platform on Azure Fabric, enabling integration of diverse data sources with support for diverse ML and statistical models. • Introduced and applied graph models derived from monitoring data to enhance the understanding and analysis of complex microservice architectures (400+ microservices) and their operational states.

Microsoft Intune Data and Monitoring Team • Managed a cross-disciplinary team of junior to Principal software engineers and SREs, overseeing and expanding the monitoring and alerting infrastructure for Intune’s 400+ microservices. • Operated and scaled one of Microsoft’s largest globally distributed deployments of Azure Data Explorer, ingesting 2 trillion events per day and supporting queries on 50 trillion row tables. • Optimized operational efficiency, reducing core monitoring infrastructure maintenance to a single FTE plus contingent staff, enabling the team to focus on delivering advanced anomaly detection capabilities including heuristics-based workflows for false positive reduction, as well as a unique data platform that supported machine learning experimentation, intelligent alerting workflows, and time-series analysis for business metrics development.

Integrated Conversation and Communication Cloud (Skype & Teams) Data Platform Team • Designed and implemented a cloud-based near real-time microservice architecture to construct 500 million call records per day from billions of telemetry events, replacing a high-latency legacy batch system, reducing P95 latency from 36 hours to 10 minutes. • Developed a cloud microservice based declaritive data quality monitoring system to ensure completeness, accuracy, and provenance of call record data.

CenturyLink Cloud Division Cloud Data Analytics Team • Partnered with data scientists to develop, implement, and scale novel real-time anomaly detection and time-series clustering techniques for datacenter incident prediction and classification system. Co-inventor on patents for algorithmic innovations. • Recognized with 2016 CEO Top Talent award, an honor given to the company’s most integral employees.

Microsoft Bing Satori Knowledge Graph • Led Satori ecosystem project, developing strategies to integrate the knowledge graph into mobile experiences • Oversaw integration of ingestion, enrichment, storage, and serving components for near real-time cloud-based replacement of legacy batch system, which constructed the Satori knowledge graph from petabytes of data each day.

Lodging Search and Booking • Contributed to re-architecting mission-critical Lodging Search infrastructure to improve reliability, latency, and scalability.

Microsoft Advertising Ad-tech Incubation • Led a small team to deliver a cloud-based collaborative filtering product recommendation service. • Designed and implemented a cloud workflow scheduling and execution framework for backend infrastructure tasks.

Windows HPC Server LINQ-to-HPC (DryadLINQ) • Designed and implemented the distributed runtime for LINQ-to-HPC, which outperformed Hadoop in benchmarks. • Created the Distributed Storage Catalog for managing and querying the system’s distributed datasets.

System Center Configuration Manager Operating System Deployment Team • Contributed to evolving software distribution from machine-centric to user-centric models. • Implemented significant performance improvements in Active Directory resource discovery. • Designed and implemented several features for Operating System Deployment

ZENworks for Desktops Application Launcher Team • Designed and implemented various aspects of directory-based software distribution component across 6 product release cycles (3, 3.2, 4, 4.0.1, 6, 6.5). • Collaborated directly with customers to resolve critical issues and define new features. • Built prototype which eliminated dependency on Netware Client for eDirectory access over Christmas and demonstrated prototype at Brainshare the following spring. Prototype served as the basis for a multi-tier implementation that shipped in ZENworks 4.

Co-founded URL and email redirection service (similar to but preceding bit.ly). Designed and implemented web services and backend infrastructure. Server configuration, management, monitoring.

• Developed atomic-scale kinetic Monte Carlo simulation of mineral growth and dissolution for extrapolating ab initio rate constants to macroscopic phenomena. • Attended NASA Summer School in High Performance Computational Earth and Space Sciences – advanced topics in computational fluid dynamics, hands-on training with Goddard Space Flight Center’s Cray T3E and Beowulf clusters. • Awarded Bateman Prize from Department of Geology & Geophysics
