I am a paper engineer passionate about hygiene papers. 🧻💚 Some people think it's a joke and wonder what crazy things you can study. For me, various coincidences led to studying paper engineering – by the way, a course with a long history! What started as a coincidence turned into a great enthusiasm for an industry that I can't let go of. Why hygiene papers? Compared to other areas in the paper industry, we not only produce semi-finished goods (e.g., newsprint, which is then processed into a finished product in printing houses) but work on the entire value chain from fibre or recycled paper to the finished product, as it later appears on store shelves. This breadth, the work on finished products, and the interfaces, e.g., to marketing & sales, fascinate and motivate me. ✨ And what do I do now at WEPA? I have been working at WEPA for 15 years now, including more than 10 years in research and development, leading projects on various topics with a focus on converting technologies and embossing. Here I can combine two areas that I enjoy: technology & design. ⚙️🎨 In addition, I am committed – mostly in collaboration with DIE PAPIERINDUSTRIE – to recruiting young talent for the paper industry. I speak to young people at career fairs and talk about my job, occasionally appear on stages on this topic, and support the development of concepts for recruiting young talent. What is also very close to my heart is everything related to the compatibility of family & career – I face this challenge every day with my two sons – and feminism – as a working woman and mother, I can no longer avoid this topic. 💪🏻 If interested, feel free to contact me here on LinkedIn.
