The quote by Abraham Lincoln, " Whatever you are, be a good one" is a quote that I think really reflects where I am at this point in my life for two reasons. The first reason is that it embodies the fact that I am a Sophomore Haslam Scholar at the University of Tennessee majoring in Accounting and Political Science who is not sure exactly what path those two majors are taking me down just yet. I am very passionate about business, finance, economics, the law, and public policy. I envision myself in a career that allows be to continue to balance these interests such as a tax attorney or business consultant. My future plans include graduate school for either law or for a masters in accounting. The second reason Lincoln's quote is really a good reflection of me is that it reinforces my philosophy that no matter what you are doing you should always strive to be your best and to always strive for excellence. I attempt to do this in all of my work, school, and extracurricular interests.
