• Handle second line fault escalations and maintain high network availability. • Escalate to vendors persistent network issues and follow up to resolution. • Capacity upgrade for all RAN elements and to support regional optimization teams to achieve Network Quality KPIs within set timelines. • Acceptance of access Network design plans implemented in the regions for all access project rollouts. • Radio systems quality assurance. • All regional RAN Controller installations completed & accepted within set timelines. • Ensure RAN controller availability and performance is within set KPI’s. • Handle all access configuration projects. • Maintain access configuration database. • Post configuration changes trouble shooting. • Support regional optimization, maintenance and other business teams to deliver the set targets. • Develop efficient configuration process through automation.

-Design, planning, integration, implementation and commissioning of new BSC/RNC. -Capacity management for Huawei BSC/RNC nodes; CPU load, interface load, port load. -New site configurations and integration and script generation to be shared to Operations field team for implementation as per planning team. -Engineering, monitoring and analyzing Radio Access Network (RAN) Key Performance Indicators (KPI) statistics to identify performance issues and initiate corrective action. -Perform analysis of network KPI’s, troubleshoot issues, and be involved hands-on with day-to-day performance management/optimization functions for the RAN Network. -Open and track trouble tickets for site issues based on technical analysis. -Technical support to field engineers for new site integration. -Generating routine reports for health check, license utilization and load capacity utilization.

-Monitor and maintain performance for BSS network equipment (BSC/RNC) for vendors Telkom network. -Perform maintenance on 2G/3G/4G technologies, cell site installation, plus development and commissioning of the mobile station network depending on vendor. -Ensure prompt resolution of all service-affecting problems within the stated technologies and within company stipulated SLA’s. -Live alarm monitoring and first/second level troubleshooting of hardware faults in different vendor BSS equipment like Huawei, ZTE. -Ensure that all equipment associated with the technologies meet company standards. -Providing 2nd Level support to Field Engineers for troubleshooting hardware and software faults. -Ensure preventive maintenance is performed on all Radio equipment.

As Graduate trainee, I was expected to rotate in the 5 subsections of the Technology Division, them being -Information Technology (IT), -Operations & Maintenance (O&M), -Planning, Engineering & Network Implementation (PENI), -Intelligent Networks & Value Added Services (IN/VAS) and -Enterprise Technical Support (ETS) and understand how they work and inter-work to make Telkom Kenya a great telecommunications company.

My work is to supervise the workers of the farm and to ensure that everything at the farm is okay. I also keep records of milk productions as well as of the animals, I.e veterinarian visits and general information about the animals. I keep records of the workers to ensure that the time they put on is equivalent to the work they put in at the farm. I maintain salary records of employees. I also research on ways of improving milk production in the farm.
