About

I am a PhD candidate in Political Science at McGill University, researching how Canadians engage in political consumerism—boycotts, buycotts, and consumer activism—as forms of non-institutional political participation. My dissertation examines how nationalist and protectionist frames shape consumer choices, with a focus on responses to U.S. trade disputes and “Buy Canada” movements. More broadly, my work explores questions of citizenship, representation, and mobilization: how ordinary people use tools outside of elections to express political values and identities. I take a mixed-methods approach, combining survey experiments, public opinion data, and qualitative case studies. I am eager to deepen the study of modern activism by exploring how social movements can improve engagement in democratic politics and better connect citizens with policy formation processes. I have experience working in research and teaching, the non-profit sector, and federal government policy analysis. I have a strong passion for activism and community engagement.
