I was a teaching assistant for Effective Writing, an English course centred around developing analytical writing skills and English proficiency. My duties in this role included answering students inquiries, marking student papers, and attending class and office hours as a resource for students.

As a research assistant for three professors at the University of Windsor, I gained several skills. I articulated the social, academic, and practical significance and impact of political science and international relations research. I also analyzed and catalogued data and used problem-solving and written communication skills to develop reports and communicate information effectively.

In this role I developed and maintained a system for all students at the University of Windsor to record co-curricular activities with critical attention to detail. I worked with confidential data for thousands of students, managed Orbis software, and assisted hundreds of students with their records. I also used social media, photo editing, and Drupal software to advertise the program and create informative websites.

The Skills To Enhance Personal Success program provided students with opportunity for mentorship with important skill development for academic success. As the assistant coordinator, I developed strong mentorship and communication skills through leading various workshops on study skills and tactics on behalf of the University to all types of students. I also developed a proficiency in Microsoft through creating PowerPoint presentations to be delivered both online and in person with accessibility, creating Excel spreadsheets for tracking attendance and feedback, as well as using Microsoft Word to create worksheets and forms, and using Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive to collaborate and effectively time manage with my team.

In this role, I answered client inquiries daily from walk-ins, phone calls, and emails about apprenticeship applications or completions, second career schooling, appointments with training consultants, and various other questions on the services and programs of MAESD in line with Ontario Public Service standards.

Social Science and Humanities Research Council CGS Master's Scholarship recipient. Research interests include environmental policy, social policy, and social movements. Courses: Political Opinion, Research Design, Quantitative Research Methods, Issues in Comparative Politics. Major Projects: "Support and Opposition of the Black Lives Matter Movement"

Honours Minor in Philosophy Major Thesis: "The Role of Newspapers in Climate Change Policy: Media Framing of Wildfires in British Columbia and Alberta"

I experienced a new learning environment and learned to be independent and flexible while on exchange in 2018 in the UK. I worked with diverse people and cultures while learning about history, culture, and different societies.
