Review the draft of the rating label for the product and the artworks for the packaging, especially the mandatory contents and the mandatory markings and pictograms before they are submitted to the European customer for review and final approval. Coach the quality engineer to conduct the sample review and approval for the development sample, pre-production sample, production sample, and inspection sample. Review the sample review report drafted by the quality engineer. Review and further dispatch the failed inspection reports. Investigate the root causes of the quality complaints. Address the quality complaints and the quality claims. Coordinate the supplier/factory to provide the qualified CAPA and intervene in the work initially for the supplier and factory deeply when necessary.

Visit the manufactories for factory audit for new projects, cooperate to work on the quality complaints from JJA headquarters. Help the manufactories to improve their quality management level. Periodically draft and provide the quality performance report to the several top suppliers to help them to improve their quality management capability and well monitor their manufactories especially on their product quality performance. And work closely together with the supplier and with the manufactory for specific quality improvement projects, e, g, for decreasing the return rate of certain products or product groups. Accompany the buyers from JJA headquarters to visit manufactories for new item development or new projects.

Main responsibilities: Draft relevant technical brief, test protocol, and PSI (Pre-shipment Inspection) protocol for the products pre-selected by the buyer from the headquarters during his/her sourcing trip in China. Conduct pre-audit for the manufactories under the relevant supplier. Conduct the protocol tests for those products. And coordinate the headquarters, the supplier, and the manufactories simultaneously. Support the sourcing team from the product engineering and technical aspects. Ensure the gold sample and the bulk products are completely in conformity to the above product technical requirements to accomplish the project. Draft the PSI (Pre-shipment inspection) protocol when the supplier is preparing the materials and components/parts and is making the plate and printing the artworks for the packaging and the instruction manuals. And then send the PSI protocol to the CTM (category technical manager) in the headquarters for notification and record, for their opinions and suggestions or for any inquiry. Review the PSI reports for the bulk products from the 3rd party laboratories. Approve the PSI reports and release the cargoes. Factory audit for the products： Pre-audit the manufactory under the selected supplier with the sourcing team according to the detailed factory audit requirements before the protocol test for the bronze sample. After the approval by the sourcing general manager, submit the visit request for the third-party factory audit. Review the factory audit report from the third-party laboratories and decide the final result. If pass but action is still necessary, provide the improvement requirements to the supplier/manufactory. If fail, provide the reasons and the improvement requirements and then arrange factory re-audit after a certain period of time.

Conduct factory audit, in-line inspection, DUPRO control on site.

Evaluate FA (Factory Audit), PPT (Pre-Production Test), DPI (During Production Inspection), and PSI (Pre-Shipment Inspection) reports from the third party agents and propose the disposition of production and/or products while communicating with inspection agents, suppliers, merchandisers to QA manager. Follow up and close all the open points (e. g. defects) found in the lot of mass products which failed the inspection. Evaluate corrective actions by suppliers and put agreed corrective action into monitor progress. Ensure those open points not emerge in all the future repeated orders. Deal with the complaints from the Canadian headquarters on all the aspects of the exported products.

In scoping period, the product engineer drafts the RFQ (Request for Quote) and the product test criteria. And then he conducts or delegates the product testing by himself or to the third party test agency. In production period, the product engineer coordinates with the factory to close all the open technical and engineering points found in the scoping period. Then he releases the approval for mass production. Finally in delivery period, the product engineer reads the inspection report for the first shipment and decides whether to release the first shipment.
