- Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. - Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work. - Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to bid / project as assigned. - Advise and assist in conventional bids to owners. - Interface with owner, Architect/Engineer (A/E), and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility. - Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures. - Perform site surveys and investigations. - Request, receive, and evaluate subcontractor and major material quotations. - Prepare estimate summary for all or portion of total estimate as directed. - Prepare conceptual estimates using schematic, conceptual and / or narrative information. - Review successful estimates with project management prior to job commencement for successful project transition. - Communicate with field operations to seek cost-effective methods of construction used by superintendents and project managers for inclusion in future estimating projects. - Work with Senior and Lead Estimators to assist with larger projects by reviewing assigned divisions of the project(s).

• Field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration, estimating, and supervision of field activities. • Performing engineering tasks requiring standard techniques and handling minor problems of a technical nature arising during construction • Maintaining records as required regarding job progress, costs, material usage, etc. • Investigating problems and/or reported incidents, identifying, and recommending solutions/alternatives as appropriate. • Reviewing plans and specifications to determine material requirements (quantities and qualities), pricing of materials, etc. • Working with suppliers as required facilitating the handling and expediting delivery of materials.

Review and understand project-related drawings and specifications. Speak and coordinate with Engineers, General Contractors, Project Foremen, and other Industry Associates. Created and delivered construction cost estimates for various scopes of work. Perform and oversee all the company’s demolition processes such as Core Drilling, Floor Sawing, Robot Demolition, Wire Sawing, Concrete Hand Sawing, and Jack hammering Demolition.

• Demo out concrete proficiently with all the following diamond or demolition tools: Wall saw, Core drill, Flat saw, Hand saw, Ring saw, and/or Compression tools. • Speak and coordinate with Engineers, General Contractors, Project Foremen, and other Industry Associations. • Assisted with reading and understanding construction design documents and project estimating.

Perform routine field tests in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, DOT or other standards Review and understand project related drawings and specifications Communicate effectively with ESP project staff and project construction team Report test results through ESP’s field data collection software

Lead four to six-man crews at various job sites. Assemble forms for concrete structures such as floors, falls, bases, sidewalks, roads, and bridges. Perform and oversee all the company’s demolition processes such as Core Drilling, Floor Sawing, Robot Demolition, Wire Sawing, Concrete Hand Sawing, and Jack hammering Demolition. Operate all equipment used in concrete demolition and removal. Poured and finished concrete, epoxies, and grouts to the required finishes

Construction managers work in tandem with architects and engineers to build and provide facilities for owners and end users. The field of construction management is responsible for the entire spectrum of facilities and structures required by people to live, work and play. The program is one of the largest Construction Management programs in the Southeastern United States and has a highly qualified and experienced faculty that represents the fields of architecture, construction management, civil engineering, and mechanical engineering.

Received instruction in construction document preparation, materials, methods, environmental and structural systems, building codes and specifications, and computer applications and complete a design project. Optional courses may be provided to suit specific career needs.
