Development of new technologies and global plant support

* I was the acting production Area Manager at Gasification Plant. * In order to effectively manage personnel I started out working alongside Process Controllers, Panel Senior Process Controller then Production Foreman. * I have a lot of technical expertise and experience along with a lot of people and management skills. I know and use all the procedures and processes like Process Deviation Analysis, Root cause analysis, Management of Change and many more. Most of these I conducted and presented myself. * I was also part of plant support projects, shutdown coordination and I completed a rotation at Process Coordination (MPI) Secunda where I got familiar with the whole Gas Production, Gas Circuit and Liquid refinery units and the coordination between them. * I also did time management, load notifications and do IMS. Therefore I am familiar with all SAP functions. * Gasification has 4 shifts with 2 Foreman per shift and 13 process artisans per Foreman. It is a cut throat environment where decisions need to be made fast and effectively and have huge impacts.

* I started at Sasol as a Candidate Engineer stationed at Gas Production (Sasol Synfuels) * I was part of small technical support teams investigating production issues and failures. * My investigations ranged from coal bunker damage investigations to Ash Lock sequence program improvements. * I also wrote numerous technical reports with recommendations for management. * I did modulations on coal ash content and the influence on production variables and linked it to maintenance activities and cost estimations

I passed my master’s degree with distinction in all my subjects. Thesis done and published on “reaction hydrodynamics in an inverse-fluidized bed bio-reactor”.

* was the lead plant support engineer on the Sulphate units * I also lead optimization and root cause investigations on Sulphur recovery, Wet Sulphuric Acid and Sulphur Granulation units * I provide process support on projects and I am currently leading a project with an expected escalated revenue of R160 million. I am also the project manager on this project. * I work on process deviations, root cause analysis, process optimization, process flow and reliability studies to name but a few of my responsibilities.
