About

I study how people think, decide, adapt, and change—across cultures, systems, and high-stakes environments. My work sits at the intersection of human insight, systems design, and real-world impact: listening deeply to lived experience, synthesizing complexity, and translating it into strategy for leaders, funders, and institutions.Over the past twenty years, I have worked across Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America with UN agencies, the International Committee of the Red Cross, governments, donors, researchers, and grassroots organizations. A recurring theme throughout my career has been helping diverse actors adopt new approaches and work together in ways that strengthen participation, trust, and impact. One focus of my work has been incentive design. Through grantmaking and partnership models, I have explored how funding criteria and structures can shift power, encourage collaboration, and translate values such as dignity, equity, and participation into operational practice.Today, I am increasingly interested in how AI can do more than improve efficiency. I am fascinated by its potential to expand access to knowledge, strengthen local participation, and bring decision-making closer to the people most affected by it. In particular, I am curious about the parallels between incentive design in grantmaking and the design of AI systems that shape human behavior, collaboration, and power.Academic training in Migration Studies (PhD, University of Sussex) and Forced Migration (MSc, University of Oxford) grounded this work in questions of agency, participation, and lived experience.Across displacement, climate, philanthropy, and social change, the question that continues to drive me is simple: how can human insight lead to more inclusive systems?
