Experience

Pulsed Power Co-op
Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada
-Designed low-power PCB (Altium) to read voltage on capacitors (~ -12kV to +12kV) with ~25V resolution -Programmed PIC microcontrollers in Assembly and C for fast and accurate data transmission -Debugged control boards for high-voltage thyristor switches with fast switching capabilities -Developed PCB with reliable low noise communication protocol to transmit data in a high noise environment -Simulated and verified schematics using LTspice and soldered SMT/SoC components -Programmed Raspberry Pi to communicate with CAN systems and embedded microcontrollers -Ensured high reliability of temperature sensor boards with EMI protection and accuracy of +/- 1 °C -Programmed PLC to automate 12kV charge/discharge cycles for high voltage capacitor tests, making processes 3X more efficient. -Developed LabVIEW HMI to communicate with PLC and program scopes/power supplies, enabling periodic maintenance check-ups to reduce downtime by 75%.

Steering Lead
-Led a team of 8 students as part of the Steering sub-team and assisted in the assembly of two full submarines. -Managed 3 projects simultaneously: Steering control system, Dynamic shaft seal, and Fin design -Designed PCB on Altium to control roll, pitch, and yaw

“SubSEE” vison team, Propulsion team
Vancouver, Canada Area
-Researched design options to help pilots in the recumbent position to view the outside of the upcoming submarine. -Designed electrical vison system using a camera module and Raspberry PI as the vision system for the pilot in the upcoming submarine (SubSEE team) -Programming the Raspberry PI in python to develop the vision system as well as the processing and overlaying data/graphics (eg: RPM/speed, battery indicator, angular tilting of the submarine) to the system in order to further improve performance. -Research and development on the design of a non-propeller based propulsive system. -Manufactured and modeled the buoyancy compensator mount and electrical enclosure mount of the submarine in SOLIDWORKS. -Designed a pedal testing system to analyze and improve pilot pedaling efficiency and ergonomics, thereby helping pilots increase their RPM. -Did composite work to mount various sub-systems directly to the hull of the submarine using fiberglass.

Mechanical Designer
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
• 3D printed (using SLA and FDM printing) detailed physical models of human bones for UBC Faculty of Medicine • Troubleshoot manufacturing defects such as print failures and model inaccuracies

Manufacturing Engineer Co-op
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
• Automated data analysis process (data extraction, recalculation, formulation of charts) to determine process capability, to create control charts, and to recalculate the product specification limits on Excel using VBA • Designed and programmed camera mounted linear actuator to assist in PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) • Assembled silicone aneurysm modeling jig; fixed circuit errors and mechanical design issues • Machined R&D parts and used shop tools to make fixtures/jigs • Updated part drawings and modeled jigs on SolidWorks. • Performed QC/QA tests on delivery wires and implants in a cleanroom

Student Intern
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
-Electrification Products division -Gained experience and knowledge in the design, production, and implementation of solar (photovoltaic) cells -A basic introduction to EP division’s Products, Services, Specialist functions, Processes: Business, OPEX and IS.
