Suspension Integration Engineer

General responsibility: The role involved package feasibility of axle and suspension systems including clash detection of moving parts. Covers all Axle system and suspension components including steering, sub-frames, brakes, wheels & tyres. The role requires cross functional communication to establish & deliver requirements in the target vehicle package. Mission: - Using Catia V5 & TCe or Catia V6 and Enovia to carry out geometrical package studies, clash detection, generating static and dynamic clearance envelopes with the objective of creating a feasible set of components in the target vehicle package. - Ability to gather data and make design recommendations - Meet the project virtual series gateway requirements of releasing and freezing geometrical designs. - Work closely with the Axle Lead, Vehicle Packaging and functional component areas to ensure component feasibility Activities: - Ensuring axle feasibility for different development stages in the project life cycle through sprint activities - Capture and escalate issues identified through the DVP report - Agree and review DFMEA score with component owners to help drive issue resolution - Lead plant integration of the suspension settlement ladders and physical validation for proposed solution - D7A XF Sportbrake integration of the Air spring on the rear axle and physical validation using supplier rig data and 3D scans. Anti-roll bar communalization with the current saloon variant to insure maximum reuse of components. - D7U support for legacy programs on late changes and integration of new technologies. - MLA platform developing and assuring package feasibility of the rear axle components by working closely with all CoC's. Keeping up to date chassis deliverables for gateways, working closely with manufacturing team for validating fixings strategy and toe adjustment solution, engaging with tool suppliers from early stages of the project to develop a new common toe adjustment tool.
