Currently working on building out the Datalake for Yelp. The goal is to breakdown data silos and make data access cheap, fast & easy for engineers and business analysts. Technologies used include: Spark, Parquet, AWS Redshift & Spectrum, AWS Athena. Previous Projects: * Metrics Infrastructure: Part of a team that built Yelp's metrics stack from the ground up enabling over 500 engineers to record, analyze and alert on Infra & App metrics. Tech: Python, Go, Docker, Terraform, AWS EC2 * Lead the efforts to productionize Splunk at Yelp. Migrated over 750TB of data between VPCs to a highly available and cost effective cluster. Rewrote components that forward logs from sources such as Kafka and SQS. This is the defacto log management tool used by all engineers for sub second alerting and critical analysis. Technologies used: Splunk, Kafka, Puppet, Docker, Terraform, AWS EC2, SQS, SNS, EBS, S3 * Time series System: Lead developer on an in-house time series management system built on top of Cassandra, Kairos & Grafana. Engineered a system that monitors website visitors in real time for a chat and analytics product. * Created a JavaScript library to enable chat and analytics across websites. * Designed and developed a console for users to monitor visitors in real-time and initiate conversations. * Created a module to analyze the visitor data and provide statistics. Developed a request routing and task scheduling system * Optimized the task scheduling system to queue requests based on custom variables. * Worked on an email listener app that scans Gmail and routes it to the task scheduling system. * Created a success rate-reporting analytics tool for the task delivery engine. Elected as Quality and Reliability Associate * Identify common problems, developed standardized solutions, take care of code reviews * Prototyped new ideas and improvised the same during agile development cycles. * One of the two developers selected to go to San Francisco to attend Google I/O 2012. * One of the five developers selected to attend Great Indian Developer Summit (GIDS - 2011) * Speaker in a knowledge sharing platform, within the company called SYK(Spread Your Knowledge)
