I'm a software engineer who cares about clean architecture, strong observability, and building systems that scale and don't break under pressure. Throughout my career, I've been driven by curiosity to find answers to difficult questions and to keep learning along the way. I have 5+ years of experience designing and building distributed systems using Java, Spring Boot, Python, and AWS, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance. My work has centered on performance-critical services, event-driven architectures, and data pipelines. At Smartsheet, I helped build a backend service from scratch and grow it into a Tier-1 (mission critical) service. I experienced the full lifecycle of the service—from its early days handling ~20 requests per second to supporting over 10,000 requests per second in production. Key achievements include: - Led a large-scale migration of 100M+ configuration records from a centralized legacy MySQL table to a NoSQL DynamoDB store - Improved service availability by architecting deployment pipelines with automated rollbacks and zero downtime - Improved performance by designing caching solutions for the service I also enjoy mentoring junior engineers, improving engineering processes, and building software that's easy for other engineers to operate and extend. I'm currently exploring backend engineering roles where I can work on large-scale distributed systems and own meaningful technical problems.
