With the late Jos Kunst (Dutch composer and music theorist) I did research in cognitive musicology, devising empirical methods to test his theory about 'Making Sense in Music'.

De Zeister Muziekschool is het Centrum voor Muziek in het hart van Zeist.Wij willen iedereen, ongeacht afkomst of mogelijkheden, de gelegenheid geven zich muzikaal te ontwikkelen. Mensen die zo kunnen genieten van eigen en andermans verworvenheden, die zich kunnen uitleven en uitdrukken met en door kunst.Onze 1200 cursisten komen naar ons toe voor lessen en cursussen, concerten en voorstellingen, workshops en projecten. Jaarlijks ontvangen wij meer dan 70.000 bezoekers. Op de Zeister scholen gaan jaarlijks enkele duizenden leerlingen met muziek aan de slag via onze activiteiten. Door onze bijdrage aan Zeister culturele evenementen (Dag der Kunsten, jongerenfestival Up2you) genieten duizenden mensen van muziek die door hun plaatsgenoten wordt gemaakt.

A cd devoted exclusively to much of the music for recorder(s) that I wrote since 1985 has recently been issued under the title 'Kadanza' by the Globe records Label. The performances are by major ensembles from the Low Countries such as Brisk Recorder Quartet Amsterdam, The Flanders Recorder Quartet and Amsterdam Loeki Stardust, with contributions of soloist Saskia Coolen in collaboration with recorder player Marjan Banis and pianist Yuri van Nieuwkerk.

* After giving a general introduction in the 1st year, I teach 3rd year music students to critically (re)consider historical and aesthetical perspectives on 20th century music, and coach both bachelor and master students in their research. * Recently, I proposed to drop the distinction between 'modern'​ and other music and have been asked by the Conservatory to propose a redesigning of the programme in Music and Cultural History. * As a coach and tutor I take part in the Chamber Music Programme. * I also instigated a master's course on Professional Practice, together with the former Muziek Centrum Nederland and several partners in the cultural industry. * In the Music Theory Major I take part in the Master's Programme for the study of 20th century music. * In the Department Music in Education I have a long history of teaching Music and Cultural History with a focus on the 20th century (classical and jazz traditions). * For several years, I programmed the Conservatory's contributions to the Van Gogh Museum's Friday Night Programme.
