Assisting anaesthsia with intubation, swan ganz insertion, arterial line insertion, IV insertions. Reviewing lab results for anything that may hinder surgery that day. ensuring the patient has informed consent and conduct patient/family teaching. Documenting all equipment and single use items throughout the surgery for inventory. Documentaion/charting on the surgery itself, surgical counts, pathology requisitions, donor/organ harvesting documentation, patient death documentation, etc. Charge nurse on evenings and on call shifts. Team leader on day shift when the team leader was away. managing room assignments, breaks, creating case carts for the following surgeries that day or the next morning. managed canceling cases or adding cases with the Nursing Coordinator of the facility. manage emergency surgeries, finding staff to come in if the call team was already in use.
