Vanessa is a first generation student currently attending Cal State Fullerton, University. She is interested in majoring in Human Communications. Her passion for learning uprooted by her perseverance to be the first in her family to graduate and obtain her bachelor's degree. From her passion, she hopes to inspire the next generations to also reach for higher education. She is currently working and involved in programs that push students to not only reach for higher education but also allow them to explore and find their passion. Lara now works at a local high school AVID program as a tutor; this program supports and offers various resources to students who want to go to college. In addition, she works in Cal State Fullerton Extension and International Programs that assist both International students and Study abroad students complete academics abroad. Also, Lara is a member of the Global Titan Leadership Program (GTLP), that provides incoming freshman with the opportunity to study abroad their first year in college.
