Vamshidhar Reddy Devulapally

I’m currently building 998cuts, an AI-powered smart trimmer designed to make at-home grooming easier and more reliable. I work closely with designers and engineers to shape the product from the ground up — from how it looks and feels to how it actually works. We’re exploring ideas like 3D hairstyle previews, real-time feedback, and intelligent blade adjustments. Right now, my focus is on developing the product, refining the brand, and validating whether it truly solves a real problem, while also preparing for competitions and investor opportunities. Alongside this, I’m actively working on two research areas that I care about. One is BGP communities, where I’m trying to understand how routing information behaves in real-world networks, especially in terms of propagation and security. The other is a project on children’s short-form video analysis, where I’m building pipelines to study things like scene changes, brightness, flicker, and speech patterns to better understand content characteristics. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Software Engineering at California State University, Fullerton. Before this, I completed my Dual Degree at NIT Rourkela, which gave me a strong technical base. I also worked as a Data Analyst at Root En Route, where I used data to improve customer retention and support marketing decisions. Overall, I enjoy working on problems where systems, data, and real-world applications come together, whether that’s through building products or exploring research.
