Paintings and mixed media work done mostly with oil, acrylic or watercolors; collage and textile elements also enter many of the images. Subject matter usually covers landscapes or personal locality. These works unfold at their own pace, and question the relationship the viewer has with thier own surroundings as well as the image depicted in the painting. I, as well as the viewer, resolve the work by patience, observation and logical thought. I am currently exploring within the framework of surroundings and locality the power that human presence has. Some works having a lack of presence (which can indicate both a positive or lonely vibe); and some with an overwhelming number or people, who all meld into one, becoming one fantastic spirit with the ability to maneuver in space and society in ways that one cannot alone.
