Dr. Usha Govindarajulu is an accomplished biostatistician and professor with over 20 years of experience in the industry coupled with a highly creative background in writing and theatre production. She specializes in cardiology, allergy/immunology, and radiology and has specific interests in survival analysis, frailty models, smoothing, and machine learning. Usha is a highly motivated professional who never sets limits on her abilities and strives to live a life full of professional success as well as creativity. Outside of her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Usha Govindarajulu has over 75 published works featuring her research. She frequently gives presentations on her areas of expertise and research at various conferences across the country. Usha has won awards since the beginning of her career and continues to be recognized for her exceptional work each year. Recently she was featured in the Who’s Who of America list as well as the Who’s Who of America Top Educator. In her spare time, she continues her creative writing and has written and produced eight comedy shorts and plays while producing an in person show. Usha Govindarajulu frequently participates in community service projects and helps raises money for charity through her theatrical productions. Experience

Assistant Professor of Biostatistics
Brooklyn, NY
Tenure-track faculty member of Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Teach advanced level biostatistics courses (survival analysis, categorical data analysis, statistical computing) and do applied research with medical investigators as well as conduct methodological research. Also serve on dissertation committees and school-wide committees.

Biostatistician / Instructor of Medicine
Provide biostatistical support working closely with physicians on their studies. Assist in study and grant design, data analysis using multiple software, and data base support in Access for clinical/translational research in asthma, allergy and cancer and device safety survelliance modeling and analysis in cardiology. Also support a radiologist’s group for their design and analysis of MRI and CTScan data.

Associate Research Scientist
Served in a research faculty position as a biostatistician to assist medical faculty from design to analysis of research plans. Reviewed and supported research protocol development under CTSA grant. Assisted in grant writing. Collaborated and consulted with physicians, investigators, and students. Also conducted own methodological research.

Research Fellow
Worked on a project comparing smoothing methods fit within Cox models to occupational epidemiological exposure-response data and using new method to compare the various smoothing methods. Also worked on a genetic epidemiology project looking into the impact of genotyping error on bias in haplotype odds ratio estimates from case-control association studies of unrelated individuals. Also had done measurement error analyses and continued work on frailty models as well.
