In the quiet, early hours of a November morning in 2010, an idea stirred me awake... a reflection on love, raw and unfiltered. I felt compelled to write, to capture its essence. Though I tried to drift back to sleep, a vision emerged: a book filled with expressions of love from every corner of the globe. Not just a book, possibly a movement... a way to ignite understanding and raise funds for charities championing children and youth literacy, empowering young minds to reach their full potential. For someone steeped in the world of numbers and finance, the notion felt audacious, even a bit absurd in the light of day. But the spark was lit. Slowly, I began reaching out, asking people to pause, reflect, and share how they see, feel, and experience love. What followed was nothing short of extraordinary. Children and adults from all walks of life offered heartfelt contributions, revealing love in its many forms. Their words brought smiles, tears, laughter, and moments that left me utterly speechless. The energy grew. Australian artist Sally West joined forces, and soon international artists and photographers began contributing visually arresting, emotive works of art— each a unique interpretation of love. What started as a whisper of an idea transformed into a global collaboration, uniting voices and visions from six of the seven continents. Today, this journey is more than a story, it’s a starting point. I use the experience of creating LOVE IS to explore how we can elevate human interaction, foster deeper empathy, and create opportunities for connection in every aspect of life. It’s a reminder that love, in all its forms, has the power to transform lives, communities, and the world. . .
