I spent my first eight years living near the "Shurtan gas chemical complex" chemical manufacturing plant in the Kashkadarya region, Uzbekistan, in one of its apartments provided for employees. I was 10 or 11 when I first looked inside this giant manufacturing plant. Although I don't remember my exact age when it happened, I vividly remember the tall flare stack and the massive size of the plant, which I thought was comparable to the size of the town nearby. At that time, I became interested in working in a manufacturing plant, whether optimizing or designing the manufacturing process, or developing the final product and ensuring it meets final quality requirements. I would take the chance if you let me spend several nights at a manufacturing plant. My primary source of knowledge was my father, who had started his career as a Process Engineer and became chairman of the board of "Uzbek Chemical Industry" JSC, which includes 6 chemical plants nationwide and the most significant one in Central Asia. I really enjoy tackling challenging tasks that compel me to rely solely on my knowledge and creativity. I’m committed to finding highly effective, innovative, and cost-efficient solutions. During my recent summer internship in 2024 as a Process Engineer at Air Products and Chemicals, I had the privilege of conducting a thermal analysis of the entire hydrogen-production unit, revealing a 29% overall energy loss and pinpointing the process parts responsible for 5% of that loss. A year before, as a Process Engineering intern with Uzbekistan GTL LLC, I investigated an underperforming plate-type heat exchanger in the effluent treatment plant. This experience was crucial in contributing to the prevention of a 100-day shutdown of the Bio Treatment Unit. The most rewarding aspect of my internship was using critical thinking to resolve why the heat exchanger wasn't performing well. I analyzed and identified the root cause. Although I had two internship roles as a Process Engineer, I'm keen to learn about Battery Cell Engineering. I believe that cutting costs and increasing efficiency while embedding 100% recyclability into cell design will define the next wave of innovation in the global battery market, including the EV market.
