(Creating and maintaining those Indexes, not performing database shrinking, memory settings, monitoring CPU usage and Disk I/O activity etc) - Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system, maintaining archived data - Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors - Documenting the company’s database environment and major changes to the SQL Servers - Apply Service Packs - Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement - Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems - Contacting database vendor for technical support

- Data modeling to visualize database structure - Supports development team in writing T-SQL queries and ability to create, tune and debug them - Creating database triggers for automation, e.g., automatic email notifications - Creating table indexes to improve database performance - Create database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, triggers etc - Maintain referential integrity, domain integrity and column integrity by using the available options such as constraints etc - Identify columns for Primary Keys in all the tables at the design time and create them - Be aware of potential blocking, deadlocking and write code to avoid those situations - Endure that the code is written keeping in mind any security issues such as SQL Injection - Develop reports in SQL Server Reporting Services - Design, Develop and Deploy SSIS Packages - Identify and write best possible code in case of new deployments or when rewriting code when migrating to newer version of SQL Server
