Uday Kumar

As an entrepreneur heavily influenced by my medical training as a cardiologist, I am deeply interested in identifying and solving important unmet medical needs. Additionally, given the trends that are shaping the healthcare system that I see from my position teaching about medical technology innovation, I am also interested in projects which focus on delivering meaningful clinical outcomes in ways that are cost-effective and value-driven.As such, of the numerous companies I have founded or co-founded, all focus on problems whose solutions are at the convergence of user-centric design, AI/ML, and/or clinical service as these are themes that are increasingly important to developing new technologies with sustainable business models. Further, these solutions are aimed at large patient populations, are usually delivered in the outpatient setting, are intimately tied to the gathering and analysis of information for decision making, and are deeply oriented towards delivering an outstanding user experience.Finally, my focus on building companies is grounded in the inherent value of bringing a wide range of voices and experiences onto the team as this diversity of thought, background, and experience often increases the probability of developing truly outstanding products.
