Reviews and validates product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements. Identifies and evaluates the quality of products, operations and processes to Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements or government regulations. Applies knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems. Trains and mentor’s fellow employees in the Quality Management System. Performs root cause analysis on the nonconformance to identify the cause and prevent reoccurrence. Independently develops, modifies and documents actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action and documents resolution. Obtains corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes. Negotiates concurrence, obtains commitments for taking preventive and corrective action, prioritizes quality activities and ensures problem resolution. Reviews and validates the corrective action plans and identifies effectivity to ensure completion. Reviews and approves Quality planning changes or disposition of nonconformance hardware products/processes. Guides validation of configuration management, quality procedures and material review policies to deliver the software products. Reviews and implements corrective action on audit results to ensure media is stored and handled per engineering defined requirements. Interprets industry standards and provide recommendations for implementation. Creates analytical reports and coordinates with the responsible parties for internal/external distribution.

I inspect, adjust, test, repair and overhaul aircraft engines, drive train systems, fuel systems, rotors and propellers. Additionally, I perform routine maintenance, prepare aircraft for flight and assist in handling aircraft on the ground.

Led 11 other Quality Assurance Representatives in the process of systematic inspection and monitoring to verify standards of quality are being met in Navy and Marine Corps aircraft, engines, components, and equipment. Objectives: a. The application of QA from start to completion of each maintenance task to prevent defects before they occur. b. Improve the quality, uniformity, and reliability of aircraft and equipment. c. Improve the quality of maintenance materials, technical data, and processes. d. Improve the skills and consistency in performance of maintenance personnel. e. Eliminate unnecessary man-hours and material expenditures.

The Naval Aviation Maintenance Discrepancy Reporting Program (NAMDRP) establishes requirements for reporting deficiencies that impact naval aviation aircraft and equipment due to substandard materials, workmanship, and technical publications.

Aviation Maintenance Controllers are responsible for the efficient attainment of aircraft and equipment readiness in support of operational objectives. Maintenance Control will manage all action to retain or restore material or equipment to a serviceable condition with a minimum of expenditure of resources. Two of the most critical responsibilities of Maintenance Control are certifying and releasing an aircraft Safe for Flight (SFF) and the acceptance of the aircraft by the aircrew. Attention to detail in these processes is essential to ensuring the integrity of the aircraft for flight and the safety of the aircrew.
