Transition Networks and Net2Edge (companies in the CSI group) develop HW and SW products and solutions for the network edge. Following a review of the group level technology strategy and organisation, promoted to lead and harmonise all engineering activities. Reporting to CEO, took full responsibility for engineering, R&D and technical activities across the business. Consolidated and led teams in UK, US and India. • Developed the Group technical strategy, focusing on supporting high growth markets of the Intelligent Edge and IoT devices. This was presented to the Board and approved. • Transformed the performance of total engineering group through agile systems and processes. This increased productivity, innovation, and agility across the business. • Led development and deployment of scalable Cloud SW solution and a new product platform supporting PoE, edge compute and AI. • Drove new strategic partnerships within relevant emerging technologies such as Private LTE and AI video analytics. • Worked closely with global suppliers to improve quality and timescales. • Drove innovation across the business to create series of new products and awarded new patent.

Reporting to Managing Director, joined Net2Edge to enable the company to scale up. Took responsibility for engineering development (software, hardware and test) and manufacturing operations, including line and project management. Working closely with Product Management and Sales functions to drive growth. • Re-organised engineering team to better focus on quality and delivery. • Improved team performance through improved training and upskilling, managing out poor performing staff and new hires. • Successfully ramped 8 new product designs to manufacture within first 6 months. • Focused development strategy to increase value offered to customers and enhance flexibility in software. • Increased collaboration with partners to improve quality and accelerate deliveries.

Responsible for a global development team delivering management SW for high-availability storage systems, application processors and NVME all flash arrays used in Enterprise and Cloud systems. Team based in UK, US and India. Responsible for the full product lifecycle from requirements, design and development through to customer delivery and sustaining. • Responsible for key customer interfaces and successfully supported key customer product launches in conjunction with the cross-functional team, including HW, QA, marketing and technical support • Established Agile development and continuous improvement practices within the global team • Managed transition through major organization restructuring without impact to key deliverables • Drove advanced engineering projects with technical experts, resulting in reduced time to market and improved quality

Responsible for Modem IP roadmap (hardware, software and RF) used in Broadcom platforms for mobile, Internet of Things and smart devices. Strategic role with interfaces to global marketing, operator and R&D teams. • Executed change project to re-structure program and portfolio management team after acquisition and align the project/program management practices across the organisation • Successfully launched first Broadcom 4G (LTE) SoC platforms with global manufacturers • Implemented resource utilization tracking and planning methods across the organization to evaluate alternative strategies and the respective return on investment • Established transformational change program planned to provide $15M annual R&D efficiency gain

Nokia Wireless Modem team was acquired by Renesas with the goal of creating 4G platforms to be used by mobile device manufacturers. Led modem programs team which was responsible for development of modem platforms (hardware, software and RF) and delivery of modem IP into SoC platforms, system validation testing, integration and sanity testing, field testing, operator validation and customer support. Responsible for thin modem program and project portfolio. • Built up global program management organisation consisting of R&D development and customer delivery programs working in matrix across team of 1100 persons with annual spend of over 100M Euros. Implemented Prince2 planning and reporting practices from program to board level. • Turned around complex program to launch first Renesas Mobile 3G platform, with demanding Japanese customer, only 12 months after the formation of the company • Drove development and delivery of first 4G (LTE) triple mode data products (electronic hardware, embedded software and RF) to multiple overseas customers. Achieved industry recognized approvals of 4G platform ahead of competition. • Implemented agile working practices with R&D and Marketing and Sales organizations to enable the organization to adapt to frequently changing requirements and ensure that issues raised by customers were handled according to the contractual service level agreements • Led global organization with 90 persons in solid line and presence in 8 countries. • Built global support organisation capable to work with multiple parallel customer engagements worldwide • UK branch manager for RMC and managed successful transfer of 150 UK personnel from Nokia into RMC. Established UK operation in new facilities with support functions for IT, Finance and HR. • Developed profitable commercial business case for data platforms and products • Instrumental in sale of company to Broadcom and subsequent re-structuring and roadmap

Leader of modem R&D Framework (MRF) organisation and member of global Wireless Modem Leadership Team. Nokia started to license its modem IP technology and MRF was responsible for the tools and reference platform software that was used in the integration of the modem SW IP into a licensee chipset. • Established organization in 3 countries consisting of 50 permanent staff plus sub contractors • Led transformation of organization to work directly with external customers • Managed development of reference platform UI SW and PC debug tools for delivery to licensees • Harmonised working practices in WM and reduced overlapping investments in testing and tools. • Worked closely with licensees to ensure that the technical solutions supported the new business model • After Nokia decided to divest its Modem activities, led activities related to tools and development environment transition as well as associated legal agreements.

Responsible for WCDMA software development, WCDMA RAN system verification, Wireless Modem R&D releasing and R&D tools (including trace and debug tools and test automation). • Established and grew sustainable offshore team in Bangalore of approximately 50 engineers, with WRAN systems totaling over 150 permanent engineers plus sub-contractors • Achieved highest quality implementation incorporated in 1 billion Nokia 3G devices worldwide • Created cloud based test automation solutions to enable 24/7 continuous operation of test equipment globally and minimise test equipment capital expenditure • Established agile SW development practices in the organisation • Established global R&D management forum, bringing together all modem teams globally, in order to track progress towards the next release and allow resolution of cross team issues.

Responsible for the UK team developing and testing the 3G WCDMA Radio Access Network protocol stack software. The team consisted of 2 SW development groups (L23 and L1), a system testing group, test environments and tools development group and a build, integration and release group. • Delivered leading 3G and 3.5G modem technology for Nokia smartphone portfolio • Grew organization organically from around 50 persons to over 120 and oversaw the competence growth and development of engineers and managers

Responsible for the development and integration of the L23 protocol stack for 3G. The project had responsibilities in standardization, implementation, integration, testing (workstation, lab, inter-operability). • Led creation of industry leading implementation of 3G protocol stack which enabled Nokia to create and grow its 3G product portfolio. • Achieved world’s first 3G call made with form factor handset, becoming the recognized industry reference terminal for release 99

Joined Nokia as a software engineer and then became team leader for the Packet Data protocol development. This was a project which enabled the first Nokia device with a browser to be put onto the Japanese market.

Led a number of research projects and provided consultancy mainly related to safety, security and communications.

Software and telecoms engineer working on research project on robust protocols for adaptive military radio networks. Developed efficient link protocols and routing schemes able to cope with highly adaptive networks used in tactical communications.
