Tushar Sial

I'm researching at the intersection of Stochastic Systems, Dynamics & Control, and Optimization under Professor Abhishek Halder. My thesis is focused on designing an Optimal Covariance Steering Algorithm in Continuous Time with Hilbert-Schmidt Terminal Cost for Linear Stochastic Systems over a finite time horizon. In addition to this, I've contributed to the design and testing of generative profiling algorithms for adaptive resource allocation and scheduling tasks on single and multicore real-time embedded systems. This project was in collaboration between researchers from the University of California Santa Cruz, Iowa State University, and the University of Pennsylvania.

I worked as a DevSecOps engineer at the Digital Factory vertical of the IT team at HDFC Bank, Bengaluru. My primary tasks involved designing, maintaining & securing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, Kubernetes, and Docker. In addition to this, I was also tasked with implementing infrastructure-as-code (IAC) principles using tools like Terraform and Ansible, ensuring secure and compliant cloud environments.

I interned in the Guidance, Control, and Decision Systems Lab (GCDSL) in the Aerospace Department at IISc under the guidance of Prof. Debasish Ghose. There, I developed guidance & control algorithms for the autonomous docking of spacecraft with non-cooperative tumbling satellites.

I headed this subsystem that deals with the design and integration of the Electric Power train for a formula-styled Electric vehicle.

Inspired Karters is the Formula Student Team of Bits Pilani, Pilani Campus. The team comprises roughly 50 talented and focused members who work tirelessly all around the year towards building a single-seater Formula One Car.

I'm one of the founding members of CRISS Robotics (Consortium for Research in Space Systems), a student research technical team at BITS Pilani comprising 50+ members for designing and manufacturing an all-terrain 6-wheeled Mars Rover for the University Rover Challenge at Utah Desert in June 2024. In the team, I majorly worked on designing the drive system of the Rover and contributing to developing the High-level Electrical Architecture of the Rover.

I worked in a 2-member team on developing the Drive System of a small 4-wheeled prototype for autonomous traversal in indoor mapped and outdoor unmapped environments.

I conducted literary research on transceivers as part of my project for the design and development of a novel optoelectronic LiDAR Data Acquisition system.

Physics Association is the Institute's Student Body that works towards inculcating a Physics culture among people on Campus. I headed the Demonstration Team for the year 2020-2021. Apart from organizing various workshops on Applications of Physics and Technology, the Demonstration team designs functional demonstrations and presents them in APOGEE, i.e., the Annual Technical Fest of our College.
