I completed my PhD while employed as a Research Assistant on the EU project VIVACE (http://ec.europa.eu/research/transport/news/items/_vivace__forum_presents_final_project_results_en.htm). During this project I worked closely with leading Aero-engine manufacturers (Rolls-Royce and SNCECMA) to investigate methods for speeding up the setup times for their computational analysis models.
