I was responsible for engineering and design of large-scale control systems for industrial clients. * My final project at Flanders was to lead the design, installation, commissioning and startup of a drive system replacement for a multi-stand aluminum cold rolling mill

I was responsible for providing technical direction and engineering for a small startup in the field of sensors for water distribution systems. * As part of the management team and member of the board of directors, I participated in negotiating the purchase of a division of the Siemens Corporation that had developed a revolutionary new sensing technology

I was responsible for engineering and design of large-scale control systems for industrial clients. * I designed and implemented several large scale HMI (human machine interface) projects for building automation and mining

I served as Technical Lead for Level 2 Systems (HMI, networking, communications). * One unique opportunity I had while at Kvaerner was to provide location search, property acquisition facilitation, contract management and project oversight for a multimillion dollar brown field industrial facility from inception to startup

I supervised a multidisciplinary engineering group which provided a full range off electrical, mechanical, industrial and metallurgical engineering functions. * This position started with a staff of 5 electrical engineers but within a year after a reorganization, mechanical engineers were added and finally, several years later the group became fully multidisciplinary adding industrial and metallurgical engineers. At that time, I was supervising approximately 13 engineers. * Oversight of the Physical Testing lab with a staff of approximately 20 was included in my responsibilities.

I provided engineering functions related to electrical projects within the Finishing area of the plant where final coil processing is performed. * I was responsible for complete electrical design, installation and commissioning supervision for a new state of the art high speed aluminum coil processing line * This was the first Alcoa processing line to integrate with the shop floor data system for all line set up tasks.

I designed process control computer systems and software in FORTRAN and FORTRAN Extended 78. * I designed, implemented and commissioned a complete multi-furnace process control system * I worked on a project team to design and implement one of the first real-time array processor based eccentricity control system for multi-stand high speed cold rolling mills writing low level interrupt routines for data collection

i provided basic electrical engineering support for operations staff while learning engineering practices used by the company.

Through interactive projects in computer vision, robotic controls, localization, path planning, and more, this program prepares a student for a successful career in the incredible field of autonomous systems. The program consists of two terms of three months each. I completed the 2nd of two terms in February 2019.
