Topher Hansen

I am fortunate to be in a position and organization that taps into my skill set and my heart. CenterPointe provides leading edge whole person healthcare for people with complex mental health, substance use, primary care, and a myriad of socio-economic challenges. I have worked at CenterPointe for 29 years and have been President/CEO for 22 years. I taught ethics for 25 years to aspiring professionals in the field or those seeking CE hours with a focus on how to reason toward a good ethical decision. I serve on the executive committee for the state association of provider organizations (NABHO) and I am a board member of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Not everyone gets to stand in their "bliss stream" as I do and really enjoy their work and life. It was a journey that led me through law school, private practice for 8 years, and a leap of faith into a small non-profit that has grown to be a leader in the field. I have promoted a culture of dynamic leadership where staff train to be the best in their position so they are equipped to respond to whatever develops. Like an athlete in the ready position with eyes and hands forward, knees bent and shoulder width apart, they are ready to respond in any direction. Make the play, be the best, train like you want the healthcare professional to train that is taking care of your loved one. Today, CenterPointe operates 40 programs in Lincoln and Omaha with 13 facilities including our new Campus For Health and Wellbeing which includes two floors of housing, a whole health outpatient clinic, conference space for up to 90 people, and a spectacular serenity garden, all of which is focused on increasing health and wellbeing in the community.
