As R & D Director at Siemens ICN (1998-3/2002), managed a $40M annual budget and more than 200 software, hardware, project management and field support personnel during efforts to build an integrated telecomm access product from concept through field deployment. This product was an ATM-based broadband and narrowband telecomm system supporting ADSL, G.SHDSL, and ATM gateway functions as well GR-303 and TR-08 controlled POTS loops. Maintenance and Administration was via an embedded web browser using Macromedia Flash. The team carried the product from concept through field deployment. The team obtained Bellcore NEBS 3 compliance as well as narrowband GR-303 and TR-08 certification from Lucent and Nortel. Additionally, was responsible for all development budgeting, project management, staffing, configuration control, and product reviews. Managed the concept, system design, development and deployment of the access system. Analyzed markets for competitive products. Reported directly to Vice-Presidents and communicated regularly with the President and CEO. Participated in product reviews and workshops to set direction for future products. Chosen as 1 of only 4 in Engineering to receive Circle of Excellence award for achievements. Organization obtained ISO-9001 certification for development practices during my tenure. Performed as team leader and supervisor for call processing development. Led the design, implementation, and deployment of TR 317-based ISUP and various SS7-CLASS based features including Calling Number Delivery, Automatic Callback, and Automatic Recall.
