WSTC provides planning, administration, and fiscal oversight of the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority (WMATA) and other rail, bus, and para-transit systems in the Washington Suburban Transit District (Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties). It coordinates mass transit programs with the county governments and MDOT and serves as the conduit for funding for WMATA, MARC trains and MTA buses.

Elected and re-elected by voters to serve in the legislative branch of Maryland's largest jurisdiction. Unanimously elected by my colleagues to serve as President and Vice President of the Council. Core responsibilities include: * approving all county legislation and zoning changes * oversight and approval of $6 billion operating budget and $14 billion capital budget * approving executive appointments to Montgomery County government and WSSC Water * appointing Commissioners to Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission * serving as the Montgomery County Board of Health, approving all Health Regulations Chair, Committee on Transportation & Environment Member, Public Safety Committee Member, Audit Committee Member, Board of Directors, Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Champion for working families, clean environment & a strong local economy supported by excellent public schools and an outstanding transportation system. Leading advocate for early education, children's health protections, paid sick & parental leave, living wages, Purple Line construction & WMATA improvements.

Supporting mission-driven teams for NRDC and the NRDC Action Fund engaged in innovative work on climate, transportation, energy, grid reliability, and toxics.

Supported NRDC campaigns to reduce the use of toxic chemicals in our food and our consumer products. Led legislative advocacy in Maryland to remove toxic chemicals from consumer products.

Supported NRDC's nationwide campaign against the overuse and misuse of antibiotics in agriculture. Helped lead a campaign that resulted in the approval of groundbreaking statewide legislation in Maryland to restrict the routine use of antibiotics in agriculture.

The Signature Program provides an opportunity for Greater Washington’s most accomplished leaders to make a collective social impact. Each year, approximately 60 leaders are competitively selected to represent the professional and individual diversity of the Greater Washington region as the LGW Signature Class. Participants hail from a variety of professional sectors including nonprofit, corporate, government, and small- and large-business entrepreneurship. Through LGW, leaders connect with change-makers from a diversity of social, cultural, and professional backgrounds. Together, they forge meaningful relationships, exchange trusted counsel, and cultivate progress from common ground. It’s the beginning of life-long connections with each other, and with LGW where, whether these leaders are tackling affordable housing, public safety, or transportation issues, they can always find great minds uniting for a greater purpose. Past program days topics have included; diversity, equity and inclusion, education, regionalism, human needs, inclusiveness and belonging, public safety, community health, workforce development, and environmental sustainability.

Provided business consulting and services for federal government contractors.

Provided leadership and strategic direction to the Montgomery Parks Foundation that supports and promotes the Montgomery County Parks. The Foundation provides opportunities for county residents and businesses to support Montgomery Parks as members, donors, sponsors, and advocates, and actively seeks individual donations, sponsorships, legacy gifts, and endowments to support park operations, development and maintenance.

Worked with colleagues on the Board of Directors to set strategic direction, approve budget, and hire, change and supervise the Executive Director at the nation's largest advocacy and trade association for progressive state legislative leaders.
