Tom George

Tom is Senior Director and leads the global legal Construction & Power team at NTT Global Data Centers. He is responsible for all legal aspects of the Group’s construction & power portfolio across the four business regions: EMEA, the Americas, APAC and India.

Tom is Head of Legal & Contract Management (UK, Ireland & Central Europe) for Linxon (a JV EPC contractor owned by Hitachi Energy & SNC Lavalin, created for the purpose of executing turnkey electrical AC substation projects worldwide). As Head of Legal, Tom supports all of the company's business units in respect of UK, European and international legal matters relating to the company's global EPC projects, major procurements and subcontract/supply chain issues. Tom also deals with certain corporate governance and integrity matters and sits on the company’s UK, Ireland and Central Europe HUB management team. Tom also acts as project counsel for some of the company's key projects, including: The 1,075MW Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm project located 27km off the coast of Angus in the North Sea firth. Project Seagreen is a £3bn joint venture between TotalEnergies and SSE Renewables and, when complete, will be Scotland’s largest and deepest offshore wind farm. The 114 wind turbines will provide enough green energy to power more than 1.6 million homes, equivalent to two-thirds of all Scottish homes. Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Plant, a project to construct a 3,200 MWe nuclear power station with two EPR reactors in Somerset being built by EDF and Chinese state-owned China General Nuclear Power Group.

Tom is a construction disputes specialist. His practice focusses on high value and technically complex construction, infrastructure and engineering disputes often across multiple jurisdictions. Prior to joining the firm Tom worked in the Middle East for nearly 7 years where he worked on a number of landmark projects resulting in multi-million dollar contested proceedings. Tom's specific enthusiasm for construction law comes from his curiosity of the unique technical challenges that are individual to each project, and he enjoys immersing himself into the detail of each project. Tom is a qualified Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has conducted proceedings under the auspices of many of the leading arbitral institutions, including as party-advocate. He also advises clients in litigation, adjudication, mediation and in other forms of ADR (such as expert determination).
