* I commenced employment at Humphries Kirk LLP following the completion of my law degree. Having the opportunity to work within a Top 200 law firm enabled me to progress my skills and knowledge, developed through previous work experience. I worked within the Land department dealing with residential property on behalf of a commercial client. * My roles included; but were not limited to, the following: * Managing client interaction over the phone, face-to-face and via written correspondence, ensuring the highest standards of client care are maintained at all times; * Undertaking complex legal research on behalf of solicitors; * Progressing residential files through to post-completion; * Preparing legal documents such as Deed of Covenants, Licence’s, Notice’s and Lease’s; * Complying with financial provisions and managing finances in and out of the firm. * I intend to study the Legal Practice part-time whilst continuing full employment at Humphries Kirk in order to gain more vital experience in practice.

I worked within the site services team at one of Taunton's biggest independent schools. I carried out various tasks from building beds in the boarding houses, to delivering parcels around the site. Working within a team on a big site, communication and teamwork was key to achieving daily tasks. The school was also proud to carry out many events such as the annual classic car show, a model railway display, and more frequently, weddings. I was at the forefront of setting up these events and then assisting on the day of the event where necessary. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Taunton School.

Upon completion of this period, my contract was extended and I continued my employment on part-time basis alongside my final year of university studies. My time here gave me an invaluable experience of legal practice and ignited my ambition to pursue a career in law. * My work was based within the residential property department. A few of my roles included: * First point of call for initial enquiries, providing quotations where necessary * Setting up a client’s file and issuing initial client care paperwork * Drafting necessary legal documents, including contracts and transfers * General communication with all related parties throughout the conveyancing process * Completing Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) returns * Carrying out the office's banking, printing cheques and sorting post * Registering new the proprietor at the Land Registry on completion.

I thoroughly enjoyed exploring a wide range of legal topics, learning from a number of extremely talented and insightful lecturers. I am proud to have achieved a First Class Honours degree, finishing with a weighted average of 73.1%. I also enjoyed a successful placement year during my third year of the course. The experience of working within a busy law firm provided me with the ambition to further my career in law.
