Bringing in work by pricing jobs, keeping in contact and working alongside customers to negotiate prices suitable for both parties. Drawing up insurance quotes and estimates based on customer advisement, photographic evidence and experience. Parts procurement, ordering parts and stock control, negotiating discounts where available. Customer service, taking calls from customers, dealing with parts orders, problem solving, invoicing and organising call outs. Organising work schedules for engineers, managing and prioritising work schedules to fit customer deadlines.

Workshop based mainly, duties included welding and fabrication, mechanical fitting, hydraulics and basic wiring for electronic weighing scales. Most of our work is geared towards diagnosing faults, refurbishing and repairing machinery for customers. Other tasks involved organising staff in the workshop and making sure jobs are prioritised to customer deadlines. The last couple of years in this roll involved part time office based work such as job sheets, general paperwork and parts ordering which was balanced alongside my other tasks based in the workshop.

Contractor for Jordan Engineering working on the Sellafield site on both site services and also contract work in active areas.

Shop based pipe fabrication, working from engineers drawings to manufacture pipework to strict tolerances. Pipe fitter on board various boats and submarines that were being built at the time.
