As a Behavior Analyst and experienced administrator, I am the most energized when I see success that is brought about with the use of positive reinforcement and strong teaching procedures. Using those two things have allowed me to see many incredible things in my career: · A child successfully communicating for the first time. · Parents celebrating their child’s first sleep-time routine being completed tantrum free. · A college student having their first Behavior Analysis “ahh ha” moment and deciding that they want to learn applied behavior Analysis so that they can help others. I have been working in the field of developmental disabilities since 1988. My experience began, working direct care for the ARC. Since then, I have held a variety of teaching, supervisory, clinical, and administrative positions. Early in my career I began working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and since then it has become a life-long interest and passion. When I am away from work you will often find me looking for the next “spicy” food to try out. My specialties over the years have included working with challenging and dangerous self-injurious behavior, setting up specialized educational and residential treatment programs, and facilitating staff training initiatives.
